Angola: 16 Runners Confirm Participation in Malanje Saint Sylvester Race

Malanje — At least 16 registered athletes from various provinces of the country will participate in the 2012 edition of the traditional yearend Saint Sylvester race in northern Malanje province.

Angop learned racers will be coming from the provinces of Bengo, Kwanza Sul, Kwanza Norte, Uíge, Malanje, Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul.

According to the deputy chairman of the Provincial Association of Athletics, Gaspar Diogo, the racers have confirmed their presence and are expected in Malanje city at weekend.

However, Malanje-based long distance runner, Caetano Mendes, will represent the province in the international Saint Sylvester of Luanda.
