Zambia: Govt Committed to East Growth Triangle

EASTERN Province Minister Malozo Sichone has said the Government was fully committed to provide the necessary support on the transformation of the Zambia-Malawi-Mozambique Growth Triangle.

Speaking during the official opening of the ZMMGT pre-ministerial meeting held at Protea Hotel in Chipata last week, Mr Sichone said the Government would ensure that it provides necessary support of transforming the sub-region into a dynamic growth area through greater private sector participation and improved infrastructure development.

"The minister said the major part of the triangle on the Zambian side was classified as a rural.

"The policy of the Government is aimed at ensuring value added to the locally available primary resources especially in rural areas. The major part of the triangle on the Zambian side may be classified as rural, "he said.
