Egypt: Spokesman - Talks Under Way to Carry Out Cabinet Reshuffle

Talks are under way on an expected cabinet reshuffle, Cabinet spokesman Alaa el-Hadidi said on Thursday 27/12/2012.

In statements, Hadidi said that the scope of the cabinet changes will depend on many things, including the desire of some ministers to quit the government.

The spokesman pointed out that Prime Minister Hisham Qandil is mulling some files and CVs of some nominees.

No names have been determined, nor even the number of portfolios that will be included in the shake-up, Hadidi added.

The spokesman asserted that he does not know the ministers who want to quit the government, except the ministers of communications and legal affairs, in addition to the vacant post of transport minister.
