West Africa: Prime Minister Presides Over Egypt's Delegation to Sahel-Sahara Summit

Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Ambassador Mona Omar said on Thursday 27/12/2012 that Egypt will participate in the Sahel-Sahara extraordinary summit in the Chadian capital on January 15-17, 2013, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Qandil.

In statements for diplomatic editors, Ambassador Omar stressed Egypt's interest in reviving this gathering thanks to the utmost importance to the region for the Egyptian national security.

She stressed that Egypt led the efforts for revitalization of this gathering and then joined Morocco, Tunisia and Libya, which wanted continuation of the assembly in a new form.
