Kenya: I Don't Want to Be Senator - Limuru Mayor

Limuru Municipal Council Mayor Samuel Mwangi has denied claims that he is interested in the Kiambu county senator seat. "I want to state here that I am not vying for any top seat including the senator seat. I am going to defend the county representative seat in my Limuru Central ward," said Mwangi.

He was speaking during the crowning of Miss Limuru at Manga Corner hotel in Limuru last weekend. He was accompanied by Limuru MP Peter Mwathi and The National Alliance party Kiambu county vice chairman William Kuria Josiah.

Those who have declared their interest in the senator seat are former Limuru MP Kuria Kanyingi, veteran politician and businessman Nginyo Kariuki, businesswomen Terry Kairu and Beth Kimani, businessman Kimani wa Matangi, former Juja MP Stephen Ndichu and Knut secretary general Clement Gicharu.
