Nigeria: Kogi Governor Involved in Auto Crash, Aid Dies

Lokoja — Kogi state governor Idris Wada of Kogi today escaped death in a fatal accident that happened at Emi-Woro village along Ajaokuta-Lokoja road.

Daily Trust gathered that the governor's Aid-De-Camp (ADC), ASP, Idris Mohammed died instantly in the accident which at happend at about 2 pm.

Eye-witnesses said the governor's Lexus jeep travelling at high speed had a tyre burst and in the process veered off the road and somersaulted into an uncompleted building by the road side.

Wada who was brought out of the vehicle unconscious with a fractured leg along with his orderly and driver was rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Lokoja for medical attention.

Daily Trust gathered at the hospital that the governor was in stable condition.

The governor and his entourage were returning from Igala Education Summit conference in Anyigba.

Confirming the report, the commissioner for information Alhaji, Yabagi Bologi said the governor was rushed to the State Specialist Hospital Lokoja .

The statement further added that wada , his orderly and his driver were in stable condition.
