Ondjiva — The Secretary of State for Energy, Joaquim Ventura, paid on Friday a few-hour official visit to the Ondjiva city, southern Cunene province, aimed to check sector in the region.
Joaquim Ventura, accompanied by the senior staff of the Ministry of Energy and Water, learnt about construction works of Terminal Power Station that will have the capacity of 10 megawatts, whose construction started in April 2013.
The official visited housing project of Cashila II, where it was set up a thre-group generator station that supplies energy to 400 residences.
He also visited Onahuma locality, which will benefit from the power supply of the new high tension line of 132 kilovolts that was inaugurated on Friday by the local governor, António Didalelwa.
Speaking to the press at the end of his visit, Joaquim Ventura expressed his satisfaction at progress recorded in Cunene province, concerning the power supply to the population.
He said that minister intends to work in a coordinated way with provincial government of Cunene so as to guarantee quantity and quality of energy.
