Gor Mahia resume pre season training on Wednesday next week when head coach Zdravko Logarusic returns from a month long holiday in his native Croatia.
In the absence of the Croatian Gor have been quiet in the transfer market. Recently however, the club confirmed an agreement for former Sofapaka and Kenya international custodian Zachary Onyango to join them from Ethiopian side Coffee Board.
Onyango featured for Sofapaka in the 2011 KPL season, playing a key role in the side's advancement to the first round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The custodian saved a penalty against Angola's AS Aviacao to set Sofapaka's date with Egyptian giants Ismailia. Later in the season, he earned his first international cap with Harambee Stars in an international friendly against Bafana Bafana in South Africa in which Kenya lost 2-0.
The goalie will fill the gap left by Wycliffe Kasaya rumoured to be an interest at Kakamega Homeboyz. Onyango will compete with club captain Jerim Onyango and veteran Tanzanian goalkeeper Ivo Mapunda.
