Tanzania: Nderumaki Is TSN Acting Managing Editor

THE Board of Directors of Tanzania Standard (Newspapers) Limited (TSN) has appointed Mr Gabriel Nderumaki, the company's Acting Managing Editor effective December 24, this year.

Mr Nderumaki takes over from Mr Mkumbwa Ally, whose contract with the company expired on December 15, this year. The new Acting Managing Editor has been with TSN for more than 20 years and served in senior editorial positions including Sports Editor, News Editor and Business Editor.

"I am ready for the new challenge and looking forward to getting maximum co-operation from readers, government, the private sector and all other stakeholders," Mr Nderumaki said.

He pledged that under his leadership, TSN who are the publisher of "Daily News, Sunday News, Habari- Leo, HabariLeo Jumapili and SpotiLeo," will continue to publish well researched educative and informative articles, as opposed to unreasonable sensational items.

"We will continue to publish informative stories in support of the government's initiatives to improve the lives of Tanzanians and when necessary provide constructive criticism, as opposed to unreasonable sensational articles.

"To investors, we will continue writing balanced and educational stories about their role in national development," he said. TSN is a registered company and has been in the newspapers industry for more than 70 years. The company is currently wholly owned by the government.
