Bossaso — Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole visited Bossaso Medical College and the General Hospital in Bossaso as he continues his tour of the commercial capital of Puntland, Garowe Online reports.
President Farole accompanied by a delegation of ministers and government officials which included Minister of Health Ali Abdullahi Warsame, visited Bossaso Medical College where he spoke to students on Sunday.
The college was established in 1998 and hundreds of students from across Puntland and Somalia are enrolled.
President Farole encouraged the students to strive to better themselves in order to give back to the residents Puntland.
After his speech at the medical college, President Farole visited the newly renovated General Hospital in Bossaso to oversee a shipment of supplies and equipment being delivered to the hospital.
Puntland's Ministry of Health has focused its efforts on improving medical service in public hospitals in rural and urban areas in Puntland.
Bossaso's General Hospital is still under construction as the hospital's renovation project is still incomplete, officials at the hospital said that the redecoration is nearly complete.
After his trip to the hospital, President Farole visited the port in Bossaso to observe another construction project to expand the seaport.
Bossaso has undertaken a new face, as development projects to improve infrastructure, airport and seaport are well underway in the capital of Bari region.
