Nigeria: FCT Elections - Opposition Parties Plan Alliance Against PDP

Opposition political parties have mulled plans to have a working accord during the forthcoming elections into the six Area Councils under the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Under the proposed alliance, leaders of the opposition parties, including the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Action Congress of Nigeria ( ACN), Congress for Progressive Change ( CPC) are said to have perfected plans to field candidates only in the areas where they have electoral strength.

The Deputy Chairman of APGA FCT chapter, Mr. Anyaegbunam Okoye who spoke about the opposition collaboration at the weekend during the conduct of party primaries to choose candidate for the FCT council election in Abuja, said meetings have been held to actualise the accord.
