Angola: Over 400.000 Tons of Several Cereals to Be Collected

Lubango — Over 400.000 tons of diverse types of cereals should be harvested between the months of June and July 2013 in Huila Province, according to the forecast from the Local agriculture, rural development and Fisheries department, under the 2012/2013 agricultural campaign.

The information was released Friday by the head of the sector, Lutero Campos, when he received yearend compliments from his staff, having said that the harvest will include products such as maize, millet and sorghum.

He also reminded that this campaign was filled with 605.000 plantations and 295 hectares of land, in which should also be collected significant amounts of beans, tubers and vegetables.

The campaign includes the integration of 144.215 peasant families distributed in 153 associations, who received material assistance from the local executive, with inputs such as seeds, fertilizers and work tools.
