Dundo — Young people should keep alight the flames of independence and conquests achieved by the Angolan people in various stages of the struggle for self determination, defended Friday in Dundo, Lunda Norte Province, the secretary of State for Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, Clemente Cunjuca.
The appeal was made during his dissertation on "January 4 of 1961 to January 4 of 2013, 52 Years of Struggle and Victory," an act which opened the activities to celebrate the day of the Baixa de Cassanje Region Martyrs, to be marked on January 04.
The government official stressed that the youths should learn from the former combatants so that together they build the nation of which Angolans dream.
Clemente Cunjunca stated that the country has new challenges and they need to count on educated, active and participative youths for the reconstruction of the country.
The central act of January 4 celebrations will happen in Xá Muteba Municipality, north-eastern Lunda Norte Province.
