The Somali Parliament has endorsed the country's budget following an earlier rejection. On Sunday (December 30th) MPs voted overwhelmingly to accept the government's proposed budget.
Following the counting of votes, Mahad Abdalle Awad, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament announced that the proposed budget for 2013 had been accepted by the House.
Earlier in the week, MPs had rejected the draft budget produced by Mohamud Hassan Saleban, Minister of Finance and National Planning.
Seventy MPs voted against the original on Wednesday claiming there had been a number of errors in the draft. Following the introduction of amendments, 176 MPs voted in favour and one abstained. 177 MP's who attended the session.
