Gambia: Brufut, Sifoe Out of West Coast Region Third Division Qualifiers

Brufut United and Sifoe United are out of the West Coast Region third division qualifiers after coming second from bottom and bottom place in group B respectively at the weekend.

Brufut United were eliminated from the qualifiers after a goalless draw against Bombada in their final group B game played at the Brufut football field on Friday.

Sifoe United were also knocked out of the qualifiers after slipping to Kombo East 4-1 in the other group B game played at the Sifoe football field on the same day.

Kombo East finished top spot in group B with 6 points in three games, Bombada secured 2nd position with 5 points in three games, Brufut United finished 2nd position from bottom with 4 points in three games, while Sifoe United are rooted at the bottom of group B with a single point in three outings, while Immigration and Foni Kansala were eliminated as they finished second from bottom and bottom place in group A.

Immigration were held to a goalless draw by Kombo Kerewan in their final group A game played at the Kombo Kerewan football field, while the clash between Black and White of Berending and Foni Kansala was called off after Foni Kansala fans interrupted the game, and the WCRS Sports committee has decided to give the maximum points to Black and White.

Black and White will play against Kombo East in the first semi-final today, 31 December 2012, at the Brikama Mini Stadium, while Kombo Kerewan will battle it out with Bombada in the other semi-final on Tuesday 1 January 2013 on the same ground.
