Kenya: Muhuri Awards Gala Dinner At Fort Jesus

The Muslim for human rights (Muhuri) lobby closed its operations for the year 2012 in style with an awards gala dinner at Mombasa's historic site Fort Jesus.

The event was attended by the National Land Commission chairman designate Dr Mohamed Swazuri, Muhuri chairman Munir Mazrui, board member Khelef Khalifa executive director Hussein Khalid and the organisation's rapid response officer Francis Auma with IEBC's southwest coast regional coordinator Amina Soud giving the keynote speech.

The party saw the guests dine and wine late into the night as the emcee Radio Maisha's Esther Ingolo kept them entertained.

Taib Abdurrahman scooped the top prize in the Male Shujaa category as Hania Sagar won in the female category. IEBC Amina Soud won the Utumishi Kwa Jamii award as the Usalama award went to Basheikh Ahmed.
