Angola: Culture Ministry Regrets Singer Dominguinho's Death

Luanda — The Ministry of Culture this Monday here expressed its sympathy and consternation at the death of the singer and guitarist Domingos Sebastião de Almeida, artistically known as "Dominguinho", which occurred last December 30 in this city.

The Ministry also addresses, to the mourning family, its deepest condolences "at the unexpected disappearance of this emblematic figure of the history of the Angolan music".

In a condolences message, the Ministry of Culture considers "Dominguinho" as one of the song writers that marked the golden era of the Angolan music that is during the colonial period.

Dominguinho was born in 1943, in the district of Cazengo, northern Kwanza Norte province, and belonged to a generation of musicians that led to the appearance of various groups, in Luanda, such as Jovens do Prenda, Os Kiezos, África Show, Dimba Ngola and Ilundo.
