Uganda: Student Couple Found Decomposing in House

Two university students were on Sunday morning found decomposing in their one-roomed house at Kansanga-Nabutitti, in Ssebaggala zone, a Kampala suburb.

The couple; Rose Akello 22, a law student at Kampala International University in Kabalagala and Peter Ogwang a business student at Kyambogo University were last seen entering their room on December 24.

Their nude bodies were discovered on the bed entwined and decomposing away.

A friend to Akello and the tenant of the house where she died in the hands of her boyfriend, Brenda Awurien, said she had asked her to look after the house while she was away for the festive season.

Awurien said she had tried calling on her friend's phone but it was off. She said she went back to the room and knocked on the door but there was no response. She then peeped through the window and saw the couple's lifeless bodies entwined on her bed. She alerted residents who called in the Police.

Neighbours said they had last seen the couple on Christmas Eve. In the house was a charcoal stove with a saucepan of cooked beans on it.
