Kenya: Stop Being Selfish, Bishop Tells Lawmakers

AN Anglican cleric has told off legislators for using Parliament to serve their own interests instead of wananchi's.

Katakwa Diocese Bishop Zakayo Epus yesterday said MPs are selfish, cannot be trusted and they lack the moral authority to be leaders since they pass bills that suit them and fail to protect Kenyans.

"I urge Kenyans to elect God fearing people instead of those who use their God-given leadership to frustrate wananchi while passing laws to cater for their personal egos," he said.

Epus was speaking yesterday at St. James ACK Malaba Church where he led Christians in a requiem mass for the church founder member, James Muthiora.
