Kenya: Trader Held After His Worker Killed

A businessman who caused the lynching of his employee was yesterday arrested in Mbeere North. The trader had claimed the employee had stolen from him

When the mob realised they had been duped, they burnt the businessman's house. Mbeere North Police boss Eric Mugambisaid the man he will be charged with the murder of Samuel Muchiri.

Mugambi said investigations revealed that Njiru had organised for Muchiri to be killed. A week ago a mob burnt the businessman's house saying he had duped them into killing the man.

His four-roomed house and a shop were set on fire which was lit by irate residents at around 8.PM at Kathiitu village, Riandu location.

Eye witnesses said members of public armed with all manner of weapons descended on his compound baying for his blood.
