Angola: Governor for Stricter Management of Medicines

Kuito — The governor of central Bié province, Álvaro de Boavida Neto, Monday, in Kuito city, called on the officials of the central hospital of Bie for greater rigor in the management of medicines and other expendable materials, to avoid out of stock.

The local governor gave these remarks during a meeting to the provincial hospital of Bie and considered positive activities undertaken at the establishment.

Álvaro de Boavida Neto expressed this concern that recently has detected some irregularities in the central hospital of Bie, such as the disappearance, without explanation from the management of pharmacy, of the essential medicines and other disposable materials.

According to Boavida Neto, much of pharmaceuticals and other disposable material that disappeared in the facility were sold in some private clinics.

He urged the leaders of the largest health care institution in pharmaceutical services, in order to be successful and avoid out of stock in the near future.
