Political activist Mohanad Samir is currently in a critical condition after a random shooting in Cairo's Tahrir Square on Monday morning, Ministry of Health reported.
Ministry spokesman Ahmed Amr denied all reports of deaths in the Tahrir shooting.
Unknown assailants in a car randomly shot at the tents of protesters in Tahrir early Monday morning.

Samir, 20, suffered bird shot wounds on the left side of the face and the cranium as well as skull fractures, Amr said.
He was put on a ventilator and is in a critical condition, he added.
Mohsen, 19, sustained multiple head injuries, suspected broken right arm, suspected broken left leg, suspected post-concussion injury and is currently being treated, the spokesman said.
