Tunisia: Police Raid Salafist Arms Cache

Tunisian police and a suspected salafist engaged in a deadly firefight northwest of Tunis on Sunday (December 30th), the interior ministry said.

Security forces were searching Douar Hicher for salafist weapons caches when they came under Kalashnikov fire, ministry spokesman Khaled Tarrouche told AFP. The gunman's wife was reportedly killed in the clash.
