Presidential advisor on poverty alleviation in Busoga Maureen Kyalya Walube has asked people to focus on development programmes instead of lamentation if the area is to develop.
Kyalya, who crossed over from the opposition Forum for Democratic Change in July 2012, said she is not worried that she is routinely dismissed by area politicians, as a newcomer on the scene.
"I will work with those few who are willing to cooperate and share ideas on Busoga's route to overcoming poverty, famine and ignorance" she said.
Kyalya said she had identified three cooperative societies from each district in Busoga, which she would use to mobilize farmers to come together with increased bargaining power.
