A domestic row in Naivasha turned tragic after a man hacked his wife to death as his three year old son watched. It was however unclear how the child sustained head injuries during yesterday's argument at the sprawling Karagita estate.

According to a neighbor, the couple were engaged in a heated argument before the husband took a machete, slashed his wife severally and then fled.

"We rushed the woman, who was bleeding profusely, to Naivasha District Hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival," he said.

Naivasha OCPD Charles Kortok said the suspect is still at large though investigations have started. He said the child though still admitted at the hospital is in a stable condition.
