Kenya: Sh20 Bhang Earns Man Nine Months in Jail

A man who admitted keeping two rolls of bhang has been jailed for nine months. Geoffrey Karanja Kiiru, 28 was jailed after he failed to raise a Sh15,000 fine. Kiiru committed the offence on December 27 at Muguga in Thika East.

Prosecutor chief inspector Josephine Wambua told y principal magistrate D.A. Orimba the accused came home while drunk and started threatening his family. The family summoned police and he was arrested. Whena search was conducted on him, the bhang valued at Sh20 was recovered. Kiiru has 14 days to appeal.
