MKU chancellor Prof Victoria Wells Wulsin has hailed president Mwai Kibaki for awarding the university founder and chairman board of Trustee, Simon Nyutu Gicharu first class award of the chief of the order of the burning spear (CBS),the highest a civilian can be bestowed in Kenya in recognition of distinguished service in education sector rendered to the nation

Prof Wulsin said the award showed president Kibaki and the government recognized the resolve ad commitment by Gicharu and MKU to supplement government efforts to provide quality and accessible higher education in the country.

The chancellor while congratulating Gicharu for the award assured Kenyans and the East African community that the founder will dedicate the honour to help increase sustainable access to quality higher education.
