Kenya: Migori Aspirant to Set Up Bank If Elected

Migori governor aspirant Anne Anyanga has promised to start a bank to offer low interest rate loans to locals if elected. Anyanga said The Migori County Bank will be a development micro-finance that will offer loans and train youth and women in business ventures.

"These loans will help spur growth in tobacco, sugarcane, mining and fish industries," she said. She said the bank which will be fully owned by locals will get its starting funds from share capital and local investors which will mainly be deposits made by residents. Anyanga was speaking yesterday in Rongo and Awendo where she made several stop overs.
