Kenya: Transition Authority to Recruit 1,000 Staff

The transition authority is set to recruit close to 1,000 officers to take up positions in 47 counties. Transition authority chairman Kinuthia Wamwangi said yesterday that out of 6,000 applicants, 1,000 will be picked for the jobs on interim and permanent basis to start preparing for the coming of county governments.

Wamwangi said those hired will soon be dispatched to counties to start preparing for the installation of governors . "The team will be comprised of clerks, county transition coordinators, county support staff and secretaries. They will work for a period of three years at mercy of governors who may decide to retain or hire new ones," he said.
