Angola: Sports Minister Happy With Angolans' Civility in 2012 Yearend Race

Luanda — The Minister of Youth and Sports, Gonçalves Muandumba, highlighted on Monday the civility of the public of Luanda during the 57th edition of the traditional 2012 year-end race dubbed "Saint Sylvester", won by the Ethiopian runner Tesfaye, with 28 minutes and 27 seconds (official time).

Rafael Epesse in males category and Ernestina Paulino in female class were the best Angolan athletes in the race.

According to the minister, every end of the year Saint Sylvester has been marking the highest point in the reflection of all activities throughout the year.

Gonçalves Muandumba said so when handing over two vehicles to the Angolan best runners in the race, offered by the private organisation Santos Bikuku that the joined this sport year-ends event.

He also hailed the engagement of police, medical emergency services and sponsors for the exemplary competition.
