Nigeria: Kid Golfers Assemble At Ikeja Club

More than 60 kid golfers have been drawn to tee-off at the inaugural Ikeja Golf Club kid golf championship slated for Wednesday.

Lady Captain of the club, Ruth Oluwatusin, disclosed in Lagos that the event, will be one of the many that the lady section of the club would be staging in 2013 to try and encourage more kids into the game of golf.

According to her "the future of the game lies in these talents and this is one of the best times to get them together, before the holiday is over," she said.

"Beyond Georgia Oboh Tokunbo that has been outstanding of late, we hope that more kids would earn themselves a place and reckoning at this event" she added.

The event would tee off in the early hours of today when the kids accompanied by their guardians and coaches will be registered and drawn for the 18-hole, one-day challenge at the ten-hole club.

Over nine categories of awards would be given out. The event is backed by Promasidor and Cola-Cola Nigeria.
