Egypt: Applying New Taxes Hinges On Outcome of National Dialogue

The outcome of national dialogue on the economic reform package unveiled recently is what will determine the suitable time for applying a planned new set of taxes, Finance Minister Momtaz el-Said said on Monday 31/12/2012.

The government is open to all views and suggestions by representatives of civil society, Said told the board of the Federation of the Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.

He said that an International Monetary Fund (IMF) team will be visiting Cairo shortly to resume consultations over a $4.8 billion loan to Egypt.
