Zambia: Report Unscrupulous Foreigners, Lungu Urges Zambians

GOVERNMENT has urged Zambians to provide information on criminals and unscrupulous foreigners to law enforcement agencies as the State intensify cleaning up the country this year.

Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu said in Lusaka yesterday that Zambia was the only country in the region and Africa at large where foreigners could enter without proper documentation.

Mr Lungu said in a statement issued by the ministry's head of public relations Moses Suwali that the issue become a 'thorn in the flesh' and inimical to indigenous Zambia.

This year, Mr Lungu said, the Government would ensure that anybody residing in Zambia lived within precincts of the law.

"People should report any suspicious elements to the police or indeed any law enforcement agencies because in this blessed year 2013, we need to purge systems so that we bring law and order to the country," he said.
