Egypt: Mekki Says to Continue Work in Presidency to Oversee National Dialogue

Resigned Vice-President Mahmoud Mekki said that he will continue his work in the Presidency on a voluntary and temporarily basis.

"I will stay under an assignment from President Mohamed Morsi only to manage the national dialogue with political powers," Mekki said during a press conference at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday 1/1/2013 to explain a new parliamentary elections law.

"I'm hopeful to see all opposing political parties and powers joining the dialogue," he added.

Mekki said that the Presidency held six rounds of the dialogue.

He reiterated his call to all powers to take part in the dialogue as it is the ideal solution for any crisis.
