Gambia: New Presidential Affairs Minister Appointed

The president of the Republic has appointed Mustapha Charles Camara as Minister of Presidential Affairs with effect from 31st December 2012, a press release from State House revealed.

In the same vein, Madi Jatta has been appointed as the deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and further confirmed as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service with effect from 31st December 2012.

The release reads:

The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President of the Republic of The Gambia Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, acting under the Provisions of Section 71 (1) & 71 (3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has appointed Mr. Mustapha Charles Camara as Minister of Presidential Affairs with effect from 31st December 2012.

In the same vein, His Excellency the President acting under the Provisions of Section 80 of the Constitution has appointed Mr. Madi Jatta as Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs. Mr. Jatta has also been confirmed as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service with effect from 31st December 2012.
