Angola: Athlete Believes in Football Squad's Good Performance in Afcon2013

Lubango — The former long-distance runner, João Ntyamba, said last Monday in Lubango City, southern Huila Province, that he believes in a good performance of the national football team in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON2013) of South Africa, scheduled for 19 January to 10 February, this year.

Speaking to ANGOP, João Ntyamba said Angola has a strong national football squad, who give guarantees to the public that they can face any team in the continental competition.

"I had the opportunity to follow the training of the national team in Lubango City and I noticed that the squad have evolved a lot, besides the squad has in average very young players (...)", said the former international athlete.

João Ntyamba also emphassied the quality of the Uruguayan coach, Gustavo Ferrin, having into account the potential of the South American country in football, adding that because of this he believes the country will be able to reach at least the quarter-finals.

In the AFCON2013, Angola is in group A, with South Africa, Cape Verde and Morocco.
