Gambia: D500, 000 Bail Bond for Burglar

One Suwaibou Sawaneh, who was accused of breaking into a building, escaping and stealing from a dwelling house, was recently granted court bail of D500, 000 with two Gambian sureties with landed property by the Brikama Magistrates' Court.

The particulars of offence on count one stated that the accused, Suwaibou Sawaneh, on 14 April 2012, at Bafuloto Village, in the West Coast Region, broke into a dwelling house of one Fatou Barrow with intent to steal.

Count two stated that on the same date and place he stole from the said house two school bags valued at D250.

Count three read that on 24 October 2012, at Brikama Kabafita Police Station he escaped from lawful custody at the said station.

Hearing was adjourned till 14 January 2013.
