Gambia: Woman Arraigned for Assault

A woman called Binta Barrow was recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court charged with common assault.

She denied the charge and was granted court bail of D5, 000 with a Gambian surety.

The particulars of offence stated that on 30 September 2012, at Brikama Kabafita, the accused, Binta Barrow, assaulted one Sira Camara by beating her all over her body.

The case, presided over by Principal Magistrate Hilary Abeke, was adjourned till 16 January 2013.
