Kenya: CID Imposter Gets 2 Years Jail Term

A man who impersonated a CID officers and threatened to arrest a woman in Thika for allegedly "having illegal firearms" has been jailed for two years by a Thika court.

Joseph Njuguna Ngigi, 27 is said to have on January 1 at 11 pm approached a man and two women masquerading as a sleuth attached to Makuyu flying squad and harassed the trio. They reported the matter to police who arrested Ngigi. He was given 14 days to lodge appeal.
