The United Democratic Forum (UDF) Party has severed ties with The National Alliance (TNA) and the United Republican Party (URP).

The party's NEC and the Political Council met in Nairobi on Wednesday afternoon and mandated its Chairman and Secretary General to sign the termination agreement.

UDF's Communication Director Mundia Muchiri told Capital FM News the termination agreement was signed at the office of the Registrar of Political Parties.

"The party will hold its National Delegates Conference (NDC) on Friday, January 4, during which Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi is expected to present himself for nomination as the UDF presidential candidate," Muchiri said in a statement.

The rift between the political parties began after they failed to agree on a how the Jubilee presidential candidate should be selected.
