Angola: Sumbe City Hosts National Culture Day Main Event

Sumbe — The city of Sumbe, capital of coastal Kwanza Sul province, will on January 08 host the main event of the National Culture Day, during a ceremony to be presided over by the minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva.

ANGOP learnt on Wednesday that the event's programme includes activities for January 05 such as visits to the Sumbe Fortress, Sagrada Família Church, Maria Bonita Cave, Fortress and Fort Kicombo, as well as the opening of the art and culture fair, night of theatre and presentation of the Katambi dance.

A lecture on political culture, culture economy and cultural management, a round table on cultural heritage and a culture officials upgrading workshop are also on agenda.

During her stay in the city of Sumbe, the minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, will meet with traditional authorities, cultural agents and religious entities.
