Liberia: Dramatist, Cultural Promoter 'Flomo' Is Dead

One of Liberia's greatest dramatist and comedian, Mr. Peter Ballah alias 'Flomo' has died following a brief illness at the Duside Hospital in Margibi County. Mr. Flomo known, nationally for his comic acts and theater productions which; on several occasions highlighted some vices in the society and promoted the work of the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) and died on New Year's Day.

Information Minister Lewis G. Brown, officially announcing the death of Mr. Ballah said the death of 'Flomo' is an irreparable one loss to the Liberian Society and the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT).

Mr. Ballah the, head of the Flomo Theater is considered one of the last icon of Liberian Culture after the death of the late Jallah K. K. Kamara.

Mr. Ballah joined the culture Division of the Ministry of Information in the early 1960s and has been an inspiration since then in the projection and promotion of the country's rich cultural heritage.

    My namesake is gone suddenly. May his soul rests in peace. I hope the Liberian government will give him a proper burial. He will be remembered by his family and the rest of the country.
