Gambia: Sassuneh Production Staged Wrestling Contest

Sassuneh production, an entertainment group based in Serrekunda on Saturday staged a wrestling contest at the Serrekunda West Mini-Stadium. The event was graced by some officials of the Gambia Wrestling Federation (G.W.F), and wrestling fans.

The occasion was also characterised by the display of traditional concoction 'safara' and protective charms of the competing wrestlers. The wrestling contest was in two categories -boxing 'boreh dorr' and simple 'mbapat' which was contested by four wrestlers.

In the simple wrestling, Gouye-gui beat boy joof; Yahya Jammeh defeated Lerr Nyan while in the boxing wrestling, Valdo defeated Boy Doller in a spectacular fashion by lifting and bundling him to the ground. The last bout was between Balla Gambie and Boy Bakau with the latter emerging victorious.
