Eritrea: Citizens to Support Teachers

Keren — The Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, has called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand towards endeavors of enhancing teachers' role. He made the call at a meeting conducted with school directors and representatives.

Pointing out that the regional Administration has extended 2.5 million Nakfa in support of teachers, Mr. Gergis indicated that those who demonstrated excellence in the career would receive award. The participants of the meeting on their part put forth views regarding various issues vis-à-vis ways and means of addressing them.

Moreover, the head of the Education Ministry's branch in the region explained that the laid infrastructure facilities such as schools and teachers' residential houses along with the upgrading of schools have made major impact in reinforcing the teaching-learning process. He further lauded the inhabitants and administrations for their persistent collaboration to this end.

A total of 30 students who scored outstanding mark in the last general examination were also received awards on the occasion.
