Tanzania: NGOs Advise On Constitution Review

Mwanza — FORUM Syd, a non-governmental organization, has finished compiling a report after close monitoring of the activities of the Constitutional Review Commission (CRC).

The organization has presented suggestions designed to improve perfection. Speaking at a press conference in the city of Mwanza, the acting Director of Forum Syd, Mr Athanas Evarist, said his organization in collaboration with Actions for Democracy and Local Governance (ADLG) have offered the CRC construction ideas.

He said that the Forum Syd and ADLG have determined that special groups, including the disabled, have complained that they are not accorded enough time to present their views to the commission.

Mr Evarist said that his organization has suggested to the commission that organizations such as NGOs, CBOs, FBOs and community radios should be offered chance to present their views in connection with the envisaged Constitution.
