Luanda — The ruling MPLA party's Parliamentary Group manifested profound consternation and pain at the incident of December 31, in Cidadela Stadium, in Luanda, in which thirteen citizens died, both adults and children, and 120 people got injured.

On a press release signed by the MPLA whip, Virgilio Fontes Pereira, it is written "In this moment of great dismay, MPLA Parliamentary Group manifests sorrow for the deaths and sends condolences to the grieving families".

"The MPLA Parliamentary Group also expresses solidarity with the injured citizens and their families and hopes that they have a speedy recovery," adds the document distributed Thursday to ANGOP, in Luanda.

The incident that took abruptly the life of the faithful of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God is being used to reflect on the measures to be taken in such ceremonies.

The accident happened during an end of the year vigil dubbed "Day of the End", promoted by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.
