Angola: State Secretary Rules Out Sending Troops to CAR

Luanda — The Secretry of State for Foreign Affairs Manuel Augusto Thursday in Luanda ruled out the possibility of Angola to send troops to Central African Republic (RCA) as part of a regional force from some Economic Community of Central Africa States (ECCAS) countries, Angop has learnt.

The diplomat said so on the fringes of an audience the Angolan head of State, José Eduardod dos Santos, granted to CAR Foreign minister, Antonie Gambi, the bear to a message from his president, François Bozizé.

He said on the occasion that Angola supports the legitimate Government of CAR and as an ECCAS member, the country is assuming its responsibilities regarding support for the forces of the region.

The minister said that Angola will not send troops to CAR, but will provide support for the regional troops on the ground for the accomplishment of their dutie, bring an end to ongoing fighting and start talks.
