Kenya: FKF Pledge Support for New Inspector General

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) chairman Sam Nyamweya has welcomed the appointment of David Kimaiyo as the Inspector General and pledged that the football fraternity will work closely with his office to ensure security is maintained at all football activities in the country.

Nyamweya, speaking ahead of this weekend's crucial fixture pitting Harambee Stars and Burundi at Nyayo Stadium, said the support of all Kenyan was important for the new police chief to achieve his objective.

"Public support is very crucial for any state officer to succeed in his work station. We need to accord the new police boss all our support for him to deliver as per our expectations," said Nyamweya. At the same time the national soccer team Harambee Stars yesterday received a donation from Daima water ahead of their African Nations Championships match with Burundi on Sunday. Stars have been in camp since Friday last week.
