Egypt: Decree to Allot Plots for Power Plant Project

A new presidential decree has approved allotting 3622 acres from the state-owned plots in Kom Ombo for Egypt's New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) to establish a power plant that operates using the photovoltaic cells energy, minister of electricity and energy Mahmoud Balbaa has said.

Founding this plant is part of a five-year plan for Kom Ombo, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported the minister as saying.

The station which is expected to operate in 2017 will be established in cooperation with the French Development Agency.
