Nigeria: Motorist Causes Accident At Utako

A commercial tricycle driver popularly called 'Keke Napep', yesterday narrowly escaped death when a Honda car crashed into his tricycle after beating the traffic light at Arab junction in Utako District of Abuja.

A witness said the car with plate number CW 922 RBC was coming on top speed from Julius Berger axis and crashed into a Hyundai car with registration number EPE 603 AQ, after beating traffic light.

He said the same vehicle skid over a pavement and crashed into a commercial tricycle that was coming from Jabi Garage, injuring the driver.

A traffic warden at the scene of the accident told our reporter that the Honda driver refused to obey the traffic light, which led to the accident, adding that it was only the Keke driver that sustained injury while the others escaped unhurt. He said the victim was immediately rushed to the hospital by men of the Federal Road Safety Commission.
